DBC Education Channel

We have tapped the expertise of DBC veterans Denis Kania, Joe Suchecki, and others who have recorded a range of videos to provide bird identification strategies for challenging birds, tips for using our checklist, understanding parts of a bird, birding by ear, and more. New videos are posted frequently.

This series features tutorials on how to look at a bird by understanding its topography, how to become a better birder by avoiding the pitfalls of birding, and how to use the DuPage County Checklist of Birds.  This is great content for beginning birders and those who just want to sharpen core skills.

Add pleasure to your birding experience by strengthening your ability to identify birds by their songs and calls, no binoculars needed! This series includes a special focus on thrushes, flycatchers, vireos, woodpeckers, and grassland birds.

In more than 50 short videos, we examine problematic pairings of similar species, from warblers to thrushes to peeps and more. Much of the content Is seasonally oriented so you can study, for example, the three flycatcher species that show up early in migration or do a deep dive on confusing fall warblers.

Learn what to expect on a multi-day birding tour whether you’re part of an organized tour or planning on your own, including logistics, costs, and other considerations. This new series explores specific destinations with specific recommendations.

Featured presentations from a range of interesting speakers at DBC meetings have been recorded for viewing at any time. In most cases, the business end of the meeting has been captured as well to keep you up to date on club doings.
