DBC Education Channel on YouTube

Access a variety of videos and tutorials on the DBC Education Channel on YouTube. We have tapped the expertise of DBC veterans Denis Kania, Joe Suchecki, and others who have recorded a range of videos to provide bird identification strategies for challenging birds, tips for using our checklist, understanding parts of a bird, birding by ear, and more. New videos are posted frequently.

NOTE: YouTube has instituted new terms of service and is now occasionally running ads on DBC videos. Please note that the club is not gaining any revenue from these ads, nor do we endorse the products appearing in these ads.

This series features tutorials on how to look at a bird by understanding its topography, how to become a better birder by avoiding the pitfalls of birding, and how to use the DuPage County Checklist of Birds.  This is great content for beginning birders and those who just want to sharpen core skills.

In more than 50 short videos, we examine problematic pairings of similar species, from warblers to thrushes to peeps and more. Much of the content Is seasonally oriented so you can study, for example, the three flycatcher species that show up early in migration or do a deep dive on confusing fall warblers.

Featured presentations from DBC meetings in 2020 and 2021 have been recorded for viewing any time.
