Stay put. Count birds. Raise money! IOS is inviting birders throughout Illinois to join the fun on the weekend of September 25-27 for the IOS Big Sit Competition and Fundraiser. Individuals and teams of up to five can sign up and pick a day on the weekend to sit in one spot and count birds, whether in their yard or their favorite park or preserve.  You can also invite donations from friends and family to support your team.  Prizes and a party to follow wrap up the competition.
The funds your team raises will help support important initiatives for the birds and birders of Illinois, including important initiatives like the Illinois Young Birders and the IOS Grants program.
